Relatives lower the body of a man who died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), at a graveyard, in New Delhi on April 6, 2021.
Karma Sonam Bhutia is a Multimedia Journalist based in New Delhi/ Sikkim. He is currently contributing with the ZUMA Press as a Photojournalist. Bhutia has studied photojournalism at Udaan School of Photography, Mumbai, which has given him a deep insight into the various aspects of photo and video journalism, He has had the opportunity to intern for the leading newspaper in India, The Indian Express. Bhutia has had a brief stint with Reuters and has worked as a staffer with the ANI (Asian News International),. These experiences have been very rewarding, and have made him justify pursuing his passion as a career. As a new generation photojournalist, he has learned to tell stories through both pictures and videos. He has sound knowledge in taking and editing both – pictures and videos, a penchant for exploration and learning new things, and an ambition to make the most of his skills.

[ COVID-19 ] A single photograph, candid and un-staged, that reflects the news or human experience of the impact of COVID-19. The image must be documentary and may be related to news, sports, daily life or lifestyle. Each participant is allowed to enter up to 10 images. The images must be taken in 2021.
