Anupam Nath, an award winning photographer was born in Guwahati, Assam, India in 1971. Before joined AP in 2000, Nath worked as a staff photographer in various national and regional news papers in India. Anupam Nath started his photojournalism in a weekly newspaper in 1995. Anupam Nath has been working in troubled north east India where he covered militancy, ethnic clashes, floods, earthquake, train crashes, festivals since 1995. He is working on conflict between man and animal which is a serious problem in this region. He covered Commonwealth Games in 2010 and FIFA world cup soccer under 17 in 2017. He also covered a deadly fire break in a hospital in Kolkata, India in 2011. Anupam covered BRICS summit in Goa in 2016. He covered general election in Bangaladesh in 2018 and 2019. Anupam bagged various national international awards including two awards in the same section of Environment single in NPPA in 2017 as well and also got featured in TIME magazine’s top 100 photographs of 2017. He bagged first position in the same section of NPPA in 2018.
