Before being released into its natural habitat, a monkey is in a transit cage in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The monkey was evacuated from its owner, who was exploited as a dancing monkey to beg on the streets. Baby monkeys are hunted from the forest by killing their mother. Their canines were cut off before being cruelly trained in various skills to attract people.
Agoes Rudianto is independent photojournalist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He hold a Bachelor Degree of Communication in 2011 from Sebelas Maret University. He started his career as photographer in local news paper since 2007 and as photo editor at 2013. In early 2014, he decided to become a freelance. His works have been appread on many international publications, such as Internazionale, Geo Espana, Aftenposten Innskit, South China Morning Post, Forbes Indonesia, and National Geographic Indonesia. He also have been works for several NGO, such as UNICEF Indonesia, MSF Indonesia, Yappika – Action AID, Tifa Foundation, Indonesia untuk Kemanusiaan, Aliansi Masyarakat Adat (AMAN) and Konsil LSM Indonesia

Photographers are encouraged to explore the relationship between human and nature/environment. Studio scenes that are arranged by the photographer are not eligible. Each participant is allowed to enter up to 10 images. The images must be taken in 2021.
