[ Hyderabad, INDIA ] Chatur Ram Yadav (40), his wife Anjali Yadav (35, not in picture) and a relative, Rameshwar Yadav (18) set off on a long walk to their village Bori in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district from Hyderabad, a distance of 760km. Millions of migrant workers employed in Indian cities had set off on long walks along highways and railway lines as the country imposed one of the strictest lockdowns in the world, leaving them without work and food.
