[ Khunti, Jharkhand, INDIA ] As a travel photographer I’ve always been in a place almost every 2-3 months for the past 2 years. As this pandemic hit us, we aren’t able to go outside so I’m learning to photograph my own emotions and expressions. As I’m not so photogenic, I don’t take pictures of myself. I had no idea as to what I was doing the very first time I turned my camera around onto myself. Self-portraiture was a foreign concept, another language. My need for self-expression was so strong that it outweighed my fears of making bad art and using myself as the subject. With each self-portrait I‘ve created last year, I understood more about myself and what I want my life to look like. Giving myself the space to create makes me better. This photo was taken on 12th April 2020.
